Strong smell, dents, scratches and fingerprints, and a white film

The equipment arrived shortly. Immediately after unpacking, I noticed two dents on the top flap and a few scratches on the case. There is also a powder coated white film on the outside of the device and on the handle. Once, after cleaning, I ran the device through it with a damp cloth without any contents and it smelled so bad I had to bear it with the window open. On the rear plastic near the hinge, there are two places about 5cm long where material has been scraped off. The hinge itself swings, so the upper and lower parts bump into each other. Everything seems to be fine inside. Overall, the device gives a rickety and used impression. The kids love the sandwich toast.

ordered a sandwich maker because I was looking for one for the "big" American style sandwiches. So don’t slice plain German toast. However, this Sanswichmaker is clearly designed for true US sizes. A suitable size here is a 12 x 12 cm loaf. These are not available in German supermarkets. "American" sandwich pans in German supermarkets measure 10 x 10 cm. Buttered toast slices are 8cm x 8cm. Therefore, none of the variants available here are welded at the edges by a sandwich maker. So the device is unusable for me and I send it back. It would be better to describe the size of the toast more clearly in the product description.
